2- Saturday, October 17, in Valpic—6:00 p.m. at Cave La Romaine in Flanthey:
The foremost geneticist and ampelologist (*), Dr. José Vouillamoz, is coming to Cave La Romaine for Valpic. We’ll discuss Valais grape varieties, of course, but also their origins, history, geography, migration patterns, and climate as seen through the lens of the vineyard and wine. The event will take place at Cave La Romaine in Flanthey, and the experience will include numerous tastings and discoveries.
He became famous for his research and reference works, notably the renowned “Wine Grapes,” which describes the origins and characteristics of 1,368 grape varieties. Visit www.josevouillamoz.com
(*) From the Greek:*ampelos* = vine and *logos* = study
